At Magnum, we know that everyone is at different levels in terms of their firearm skills, abilities, and knowledge. And so we’ve have four different concealed carry courses that would qualify you for your CCW permit.
You should determine, through Magnum or any other source, which course would be best for you to take.
Ask yourself these questions:
- Is there adequate classroom instruction?
- What topics will be covered?
- Is the instructor qualified?
- Is there anybody, whom I trust, who could give me a recommendation?
- Is range time included in the cost?
- Does the course meet all the requirements of my state?
Remember that, in many cases, you get what you pay for. Don’t skimp! This is an incredibly important decision, and you should get the best training and instruction possible. At Magnum, we have four different CCW courses that could qualify you for your CCW permit. And the best part is that they all include range time.
NRA First Steps: This class is designed for beginners who would like to eventually carry concealed after proper instruction and enough training. During this course, we will provide you with hands-on instruction, covering: firearm safety and maintenance, types of firearms, ammo, how you might consider acting in a real-life situation, the potential repercussions of drawing or using your weapon, the fundamentals of shooting (grip, stance, aiming, and trigger control), and more.
NRA First steps for Females: This class is very similar to NRA First Steps, but it is designed especially for women. In a seemingly male-dominated environment, it can be nice to learn from (and learn with) ladies who share your interests. In this all-female environment, we will provide you with hands-on instruction, covering: firearm safety and maintenance, types of firearms, ammo, how you might consider acting in a real-life situation, the potential repercussions of drawing or using your weapon, the fundamentals of shooting (grip, stance, aiming, and trigger control), and more. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to learn, practice, and connect with like-minded ladies.
Colorado Concealed Weapon (CCW): This is the advanced version of CCW class, and is best for those who are already familiar with their firearm(s), and are already proficient in shooting. During this course, we will cover: the fundamentals of firearm safety and handling, how to carry within the limits of the law, shooting basics, how you might consider acting in real-life situations, the potential repercussions of drawing or using your weapon, and more. Then, we will test your skills on the range.
CCW Refresher Course: There are situations in which people who have already taken a CCW class will, by law, need a refresher course. Typically, this is because their permits have lapsed, or they've moved from another state, and are required to complete another one. This course will review safe firearm handling, storage and safe keeping of your firearm and ammo, the fundamentals of shooting, and a live-fire exercise.
Remember, your CC class is just the beginning of your CCW training. Continue to study, take classes, and regularly practice. We can help you every step of the way.
