Below are some questions that you may have regarding our training:

Will we be able to shoot on the range during the class?

Nearly every one of our classes include range time. We believe that instruction combined with practice are vital components in becoming a competent shooter.

What is your cancellation policy?

After payment has been received for your class(es), no refunds will be accepted. No exceptions.

Where do the classes meet?

Check in for your class at Magnum’s front desk. Then, you will meet in the classroom.

If I don’t have a firearm, can I still take a class?

Yes. We have plenty of rental firearms that you may use if your class includes range time. Additional charges may apply.

Do you have any physical requirements for the classes?

No.

Can I bring my own ammo?

Yes. But, if you plan on renting a firearm, you must purchase the appropriate ammo at Magnum.

May I use my own firearm for the class?

Yes.

I have many firearms; which should I bring to class?

We recommend that you bring the firearm that you intend to carry with you, or the one that you plan on working with the most.

How do I pay for a class?

You may register online, and you will be taken to a payment page where you must pre-pay in order to reserve your seat in the class.

Can I pay for the class on the day of?

You must pre-pay, online, during registration.

What do I need to bring to the class?

Specific requirements for each class are listed on the Class Calendar and the Classes and Training website.

What is the first class I should take if I’m new to shooting?

It depends on your needs, but, typically, we recommend Colorado Concealed Carry (CCW)-The Basics to learn the basics in the classroom, and practice on the range. Intro to Firearms: Fundamentals of Firearm Safety is also a good option that covers proper handling and firearm information, with no range time.

Will you provide eye and ear protection for the class?

You will need to bring your own eye and ear protection, or purchase them at Magnum Shooting Center, if your class includes range time.

What are your age requirements for classes?

We don’t have specific age requirements for taking any of our classes, but we do have ability requirements. Any class, being taken by a minor, must be within his/her capabilities. Additionally, if the minor will be shooting on the range, a parent or legal guardian must be present to sign the Waiver, Release, and Indemnity Agreement, and Range Rules Agreement. However, the parent/legal guardian may not be required to stay with the minor shooter during all of the classes.

Do I need formal training if I’ve been shooting for years?

Our instructors are highly trained, and could help you expand your skills, or see potential bad habits/adjustments that you’ve grown accustomed to. We have numerous advanced training options available for you to practice in new ways or hone your technique. There’s always something new to learn!

Do Magnum Members get a discount on classes?

For most classes, yes. Simply locate the “Add Promo Code or Voucher” button, at checkout, after you’ve chosen the class you wish to take. Then, type in your Magnum Member number (located on the back of your membership card). If the class qualifies, the discount will be automatically deducted from your total.

Can I schedule private training?

With enough attendees, you may schedule a private training session.

Do I need a permit to carry concealed?

Yes. In Colorado, you must obtain your concealed carry permit before you are legally allowed to carry concealed.

At what age can I carry concealed?

How long is my permit valid for?

Your permit will be valid for 5 years. You may renew after each expiration.

Is my Colorado Concealed Carry Permit valid in other states?

In some states, yes. In others, no. You can find the list here. Keep in mind, you must always follow the laws of the state that you are in.

Do I need to apply for my permit in the county that I live in?

Yes. If you move to another Colorado county, you shall to notify the issuing county sheriff within 30 days.

Will my firearm need to be registered in order to get my concealed carry permit?

No, the permit is for YOU, and not your firearms. You may choose to carry whatever handgun you prefer.
