Intro to Firearms (South Location) HG100.5 *MTA-Qualified Class*
Introduction to guns, no live-fire training (3.0 hr)
Duration
3 Hours
Overall time for this class may vary
Description
This class at Magnum Shooting Center in South Colorado Springs will give a non-shooting introduction to handguns, rifles, and shotguns. For those individuals uncomfortable or unfamiliar with how guns function, this is the perfect class for you!
This class is for beginners who are ready to learn, without actively shooting just yet. You may:
• Have a general interest in firearms for self-defense or sport
• Have a firearm, but have been too nervous to test it out safely
• Be ready to buy your first gun, but not sure where to start
• Want to learn the concepts and proper handling, without the pressure to shoot during the same class
• Want to explore different firearm options in a clear, non-confusing manner in a safe environment
This is your hands-on, “getting comfortable” intro, so you can have a better grasp of confusing industry language, general firearm function, safe handling, different firearm features, various ammo, and the conceptual operation and use of firearms. During this class, you will safely handle many of the more common self-defense firearms, helping you learn about their features, and giving you the opportunity to ask all the questions you may have. We’ll also cover proper training and storage…without any live-fire (yet).
You will learn about what size firearm might work for you, what you can expect in terms of recoil, what caliber choices you have, and the difference between a semi-automatic and a revolver. Plus, this course will introduce you to rifles and shotguns.
A firearm is not a tool to buy and “figure out later,” or worse, not be familiar with if you ever need it. We want you to have as much knowledge as possible so you can know what you want before renting or buying a firearm.
Again, there will be no “live-fire” training in this course.
